Spectators watch as mounted horsemen wearing ceremonial robes and holding cylindrical banners process below the Potala. The occasion is a rehearsal for the young 14th Dalai Lama's (tA la'i bla ma) arrival in Lhasa. The eastern end of the Potala and the wall of Zhöl (zhol) village can be seen in the background.
