Choki Traditional Art School in Kabesa was founded in 1999 by Dasho Choki Dorji, who had helped to establish the Zorig Chusum, or Institute for the Thirteen Traditional Arts. Choki school provides need-based, fully-paid training for disadvantaged students from throughout Bhutan. Students learn sculpting, painting, wood carving, embroidery, and/or weaving alongside general education courses in math and reading.
